Australia replaced the Genuine Temporary Entrant test with the Genuine Student framework in 2024 — a tighter, evidence-based standard for who the country admits. Strong scores, real funds, and an honest study narrative now matter more than ever.
Pick the pathway that matches your goal. Each links to the detailed process, costs, and what we handle for you.
The Australian process is forgiving in some areas (multiple intakes, generous post-study work) and unforgiving in others. The Genuine Student narrative is the single most important non-financial element of your file.
Take IELTS, PTE, or TOEFL. The acceptable floor for most undergraduate and postgraduate programs is IELTS 6.0 overall, with 6.5 recommended for competitive courses. PTE 50–58 is the equivalent.
Apply directly or via authorised representatives to your shortlist of universities. Once accepted, receive your formal Letter of Offer specifying program, duration, and tuition. We focus on universities with strong Indian-student support infrastructure.
Accept your Letter of Offer by paying the initial tuition deposit (typically the first semester). In return, the university issues an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) — Australia's equivalent of a CAS or I-20.
Buy a mandatory OSHC policy from an approved Australian provider (Bupa, Medibank, Allianz, NIB, or AHM) covering your entire visa duration. The OSHC certificate is a non-negotiable upload in your visa application.
Show liquid funds to cover the first year's tuition plus AUD 29,710 in living expenses (now revised upward). Education loan sanction letters and fixed deposits are accepted, but the visa officer will scrutinise the source — gifted funds need a verified gift deed.
Replace the old GTE statement with a Genuine Student response — a structured, evidence-led narrative covering your study choice, ties to India, financial plan, and post-study intent. We draft, review, and pressure-test this for you.
Lodge your Subclass 500 application on the Department of Home Affairs ImmiAccount portal, upload your CoE, OSHC, GS statement, financials, language scores, and medical results. Complete biometrics at VFS Global. Decisions typically come within four to six weeks.

Australia is one of the higher-cost destinations on first-year outlay, primarily because the living-expense threshold was revised significantly upward in 2024.
| Expense | Cost in AUD | Cost in INR |

| Language proficiency test (IELTS / PTE / TOEFL) | AUD 350 – 400 | ₹19,500 – 22,000 |
| Subclass 500 visa application fee | AUD 1,600 | ≈ ₹88,000 |
| Biometrics enrolment | AUD 60 | ₹3,300 |
| OSHC (Overseas Student Health Cover, single, 1 yr) | AUD 600 – 800 | ₹33,000 – 44,000 |
| Health check (medicals) | AUD 230 – 320 | ₹12,700 – 17,600 |
| First-year tuition (undergraduate to postgraduate) | AUD 28,000 – 48,000 | ≈ ₹15.4 – 26.4 lakhs |
| Living-expense financial capacity (mandatory) | AUD 29,710 | ≈ ₹16.3 lakhs |
| First-year total liquid capital required | AUD 60,000 – 80,000 | ≈ ₹33 – 44 lakhs |
The AUD 29,710 living-expense threshold is for the principal applicant; partners and children require additional declared funds. Tuition ranges are indicative.
