South Korea,
the smart destination.

Tuition is 50% lower than the United States, Canada, the UK, and Australia. The post-study work visa runs three years. K-pop and Samsung get the headlines, but Korea's serious play is its discipline, safety, and high visa approval rate — and the work-permit pipeline that follows.

Four ways to get to Korea.

Pick the pathway that matches your goal. Each links to the detailed process, costs, and what we handle for you.

The pathway

Seven steps, Application to D-2.

Korean admissions follow a Certificate-of-Admission (COA) system: you secure an offer, pay your first-semester tuition deposit, then the university issues the COA which is required for the visa. Done in order, the process is clean and fast.

01

Application received

Weeks 1–2

First counselling session — honest profile assessment. We look at your academic scores, English/Korean proficiency, finances, and intent. If Korea isn't right for you, we say so. If it is, we shortlist 2–4 universities matched to your subject and budget.

02

Application to university

Weeks 2–6

We submit your applications: transcripts, IELTS/TOPIK scores, SOP, two LORs, passport, financial proof. Application fees range from a waiver to USD 50–75. Some universities run two-round interviews (Korean Bible, Kyungdong); we prep you for those.

03

Acceptance from the university

Weeks 6–10

Universities respond with an Admission Letter or Conditional Offer. This is when scholarship awards are confirmed — typically tied to IELTS or TOPIK scores. Strong English (IELTS 6.5+ or TOPIK Level 3+) can unlock 70–100% tuition waivers at universities like Kyungdong, Daegu, or Kangwon National.

04

Apply for COA · pay tuition deposit

Weeks 10–12

The Certificate of Admission is the official document the university issues to confirm enrollment. To trigger it, you pay one semester's tuition deposit (typically USD 2,800–7,500 depending on university). For some universities, an additional admission fee of USD 1,500 + airport pickup USD 250 is bundled. We send the bank transfer with full receipts.

05

Receive the Certificate of Admission

Weeks 12–14

The international office issues the COA, typically in 2–4 weeks after deposit. The COA confirms acceptance into a specific program and is mandatory for the D-2 visa application. Without it, the embassy will not accept your file.

06

Embassy appointment · apostille docs

Weeks 14–17

Apostille is required for both academic records (transcripts, certificates) and financial records (bank statements, balance certificates). We sequence the apostille process through the Indian MEA. Then we book your slot at the Korean Embassy / Consulate for your jurisdiction: New Delhi (N&C India), Kolkata (East), Chennai & Bengaluru (South).

07

Visa application & outcome

Weeks 17–21

You submit originals at the consulate with your passport. Processing typically takes 10–15 working days; current averages are 4–6 weeks depending on verification load. Approval rates for properly filed Indian applications are high. Once issued, you're cleared for travel — and our Mississauga/London teams support arrival logistics.

The money

What it costs, before scholarships.

Tuition at Korean universities runs roughly 50% below Western counterparts. Most universities offer 30–100% scholarships pegged to your IELTS or TOPIK score, which can drop your effective tuition substantially.

Scholarships are merit-based at most universities and pegged to IELTS bands. Examples: Kyungdong (50% at IELTS 6.0, 70% at 6.5, 100% at 7.0); Kangwon National (60% at IELTS 6.5, 100% at 7.0); Daegu (70% at IELTS 5.5, 100% at IELTS 6.5). Korean Bible requires a slightly higher bank statement of USD 20,000.

Things to know

The detail that matters.

  • Apostille is mandatory. Both academic and financial documents need MEA apostille before the consulate accepts them. We sequence this so it doesn't delay your COA.
  • E-Visa for Master's. Several universities — Woosong, Kyungdong, Korean Bible, Daeshin, Namseoul — support the e-Visa pathway for PG students, which is faster than the in-person consular route.
  • Part-time work is permitted. 20 hours/week during term, 40 hours/week during vacations. Hourly wages range ₩9,860 – ₩40,000, with most students earning ₩800K – ₩1.2M/month after taxes.
  • D-10 post-study work runs 3 years. Initial 6 months extendable up to 3 years. Apply within 6 months of graduation. TOPIK Level 4 is recommended but not mandatory for D-10.
  • Two-round interviews at some universities. Korean Bible and Kyungdong typically run two structured interviews after document review. We brief you on the format.
  • TOPIK accepted, MOI considered. Most universities accept either IELTS, TOPIK, or in some cases Medium-of-Instruction certificates. The right combination unlocks both admission and scholarship.
  • Korea Government Insurance is mandatory. ~USD 67/year, paid alongside tuition. Covers basic medical coverage during your stay.
