United Kingdom,
quietly efficient.
The UK Student Route is one of the cleanest pathways available — a Medium-of-Instruction letter often replaces the language test, the 28-day financial rule is unambiguous, and CAS-led applications process predictably. The system rewards discipline.
Four ways to get to United Kingdom.
Pick the pathway that matches your goal. Each links to the detailed process, costs, and what we handle for you.
Seven steps to your Student Route visa.
The UK rewards a tight document file. CAS is the centerpiece — once it's issued, every other step locks into place. The 28-day liquidity rule is the most common cause of refusal among DIY applicants.
Secure admission and confirm your language basis.
Apply to UK universities. Instead of taking an IELTS or TOEFL, you may be eligible to submit a Medium of Instruction (MOI) letter from your Indian college or school confirming prior education was entirely in English. We check the university's specific MOI policy before promising anything.
Pay your university tuition deposit.
Once you hold an unconditional offer, pay the institution's initial tuition deposit — typically between £2,000 and £5,000 — to lock your enrolment. This deposit triggers the CAS process.
Receive your CAS letter.
The university processes your deposit and issues a unique Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) number, which links directly to the UK Home Office database. The CAS is the single most important document in your file.
Maintain liquid funds for 28 days.
Calculate the remaining first-year tuition balance plus the mandatory living-expense block (£12,006 inside London, £9,207 outside). Hold this exact total liquid in your bank account for at least 28 consecutive days before filing. We monitor the balance for you.
Undergo Tuberculosis (TB) screening.
Book a chest X-ray at a UK Home Office–approved medical clinic in India to obtain your TB Clearance Certificate. Certificates remain valid for six months — we time this to your application window.
Submit online and pay surcharges.
Log into the UKVI portal, input your CAS profile details, and clear two essential upfront payments: the visa application fee (£558) and the Immigration Health Surcharge (£776 per year of your stay). Every figure is double-checked before submission.
Attend your VFS Global appointment.
Attend your scheduled appointment at a local VFS Global center to hand over your passport and submit biometrics. Standard processing returns a decision within three weeks; priority and super-priority options are available for additional fees.

What it actually costs.
An MOI-eligible student saves the language test fee. The IHS is a per-year charge, paid upfront in full. Tuition spans a wide range — old universities in London versus newer institutions outside.
| Expense | Cost in GBP | Cost in INR |
|---|---|---|
| Language proficiency test (waived via MOI if eligible) | £0 | ₹0 |
| Tuberculosis (TB) testing | ~£45 | ₹5,500 |
| UKVI Student Visa base processing fee | £558 | ₹61,000 |
| Immigration Health Surcharge (annual) | £776 / year | ₹85,000 / year |
| Upfront university tuition deposit | £2,000 – 5,000 | ≈ ₹2.2 – 5.5 lakhs |
| Average first-year tuition (affordable to top-tier) | £13,000 – 35,000 | ≈ ₹14.3 – 38.5 lakhs |
| Living-expense block (28-day rule, inside London) | £12,006 | ≈ ₹13.1 lakhs |
| First-year total liquid capital required | GBP 15,000 – 43,000 | ≈ ₹16 – 47 lakhs |
Outside-London living block is lower at £9,207. INR conversions are indicative; UKVI publishes the IHS and visa fees on gov.uk.
Three things quietly decide your file.
- The MOI letter must be university-issued and specific. Generic certificates from coaching centres or junior colleges aren't accepted. We pre-screen yours.
- The 28-day rule is calendar-strict. Even a single day's dip below the threshold resets the count. The funds must be in your name, in a recognised bank, with a closing balance certificate.
- CAS validity is six months. File within that window — late filing means the CAS is voided and the deposit potentially lost.
- The Graduate Route still exists. Two years' post-study work after a bachelor's or master's, three after a PhD — without sponsorship requirements.
- Dependants are restricted. Since January 2024, only research-based postgraduate students can bring dependants. We're frank about this from day one.
